The Salon

The Salon featured in 73DF's series People in Places has been nominated for a national award!

A Touch of Class Salon in Wrexham is officially a finalist in the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards.

"The glitzy event endeavours to show appreciation for those in the beauty industry that leave us looking and feeling fantastic; from salons to the talented individuals who work within them." - WHABA Website

The event takes place in Cardiff later next month and everyone at 73 Degree Films couldn't be more thrilled for the local company.

"Elin and her team at A Touch of Class do a fantastic job for Wrexham, they are an asset to the community and it has been nothing but an absolute please working with them" - Rob Corcoran.

Earlier this year "The Salon" was the final episode of 73DF's new series to be produced. Having visited A Touch of Class the year prior, Rob recalled that the shape and set up of the business was ideal for the script.

“Once I’d written my first draft I knew exactly where we’d film it…I just needed them to say yes!” - Rob Corcoran.

After making initial contact with Elin Uddin, who runs the salon, 73DF quickly received all the support they needed to make the episode. As the project was strictly not-for-profit, the team at A Touch of Class allowed use of the salon and appliances for free - an incredible gesture to help the community-made web series get made.

"If it wasn't for the generosity and support of places like A Touch of Class, it would have been 10 times more difficult for us to make the series. - James Stevens

With A Touch of Class' help 73DF were able to connect local actors, filmmakers and community groups in a really fun, innovative way. The entire team wishes them all the luck in the world with the ceremony on May 21st.
